Learn Quran The Most Eloquent Speech

The Quran is the most eloquent speech in the whole universe. This is so because it is the speech of ALLAH Almighty, Himself. It is the speech of the Creator, Himself. The One Who created speech and everything else in the universe. Indeed, who could be luckier than a person who knows how to speak the language of Allaah Almighty? A Muslim must, therefore strive to learn Quran so that he, or she, can read Quran, ponder over its meanings, act upon its teachings, and lead a satisfied and contented life.

Such contentment comes because a person who knows how to read Quran and understands its message automatically becomes more knowledgeable than those who do not know the teachings of the Quran because the Quran does not merely instruct one about various religious rituals, but carries the most scientifically advanced knowledge as well.

The Quran informed humanity about scientific facts w hich were discovered by scientists many, many centuries later. For example, the Quran had stated more than fourteen hundred years ago about the earth, the moon, the sun, and other heavenly bodies travel in their orbits. This scientific fact was not discovered by scientists until several centuries later and everyone believed that earth was flat and the sun revolved around it. This, and so many other facts stated in the Quran, arouse interest in intelligent people to learn Quran and ponder over this source of immense knowledge.

Yet, the Quran it is not just the boundless knowledge that one acquires from the Quran that is amazing, the most awe-inspiring thing about the Quran is the eloquent language in which the Quran speak to a person’s heart and mind. There are many aspects of the Quran’s eloquence, including: purity of language and impressiveness; the meaning of a word is clear from the word itself; the meaning conforms to the word and is neither more, nor less, in effect and meaning; excellence o f composition; harmony of speech; balanced and consistent; there is no better substitute for a word is the whole Arabic dictionary for any word in the Quran used in a certain place.

The last and latest aspect of Quranic speech is the strength of the artistic imagery of Quranic speech. In the words of Dr. Abdul Radhi Muhammad Abdul Mohsen, ‘It (the Quran) expresses in an imaginary image the mental meaning, the psychological state, the tangible incident, the visible spectacle, the human model and man's nature. Then that image is promoted and given life or renewable movement, thus the mental meaning becomes a movement, the psychological state becomes a spectacle, the human modem becomes a living person and man's nature becomes visible. The listener forgets that he listens to a recital and imagines himself in front of a spectacle that is presented or an incident taking place in front of one's eyes.
